Switching from “Omnibus”

Replace the Omnibus plugin without losing your price history.

Strikewise imports the price history of “Omnibus — show the lowest price” (iworks). The lowest price of 30 days is right from day one, and CJEU mode corrects strike-through prices automatically.

Switched in three steps

  1. Install Strikewise

Install and activate the plugin; WooCommerce must be active. From then on, Strikewise records every price change.

  2. Confirm the import

Strikewise finds the Omnibus data and offers to import it. One click, and your price history is there.

  3. Deactivate Omnibus

The Omnibus data is only read, never changed. Omnibus does not even need to be active for the import.

Prefer the command line?

For large shops or deployments, the import is also available as a WP-CLI command:

wp strikewise import-omnibus

What is imported

  • The older storage format in the product meta data
  • The Omnibus price logs from version 3 on
  • Prices per product and per variation
  • So the lowest price is right from day one

What Strikewise takes care of

When you switch, you do not just keep your data: you get a calculation that follows the EU rules and the CJEU ruling.

  • The right time window

The 30 days before the reduction started count. The sale price is never its own reference.

  • CJEU mode by default

Strike-through price and percentage refer to the lowest price. Sham discounts are not shown as a sale.

  • Stepwise reductions

If a reduction is deepened without interruption, the reference stays the price before the first step.

  • Scheduled sales

Count from their real start date, not from when the WooCommerce cron ran.

  • Lean on your database

One row per price change in a dedicated table, with automatic cleanup.

  • Fast storefront

The reference is cached per product. Page views never query the price table.

Questions about switching

Does Omnibus need to be active for the import?

No. Strikewise reads the data straight from the database. Omnibus can already be deactivated.

Is the Omnibus data changed or deleted?

No. Strikewise only reads it. What happens to it is up to you.

Does switching cost anything?

No. The import is part of the free version, like every feature the law requires.

What about products Omnibus has no data for?

Strikewise records them from activation on. If a sale is already running, you can enter the earlier price in the product.
